She still does some pretty cool stuff, in between regular third-grader art- but too often she'll start something and never finish it! Seriously, it drives me crazy.
Like she has a little story book that she started writing two years ago, and every so often she adds a page.
Elora also loves to do crafts and make things for her brothers, like masks, decorations, and games. She even learned to crochet over Christmas break!
Here are a few drawings from the last few months that I thought were pretty cool, though she never finished coloring most of them.
Irish dancers. I love how the little feet look under the dress.

Comic book characters. I love the nerd who's last name rhymes with "polyester."

This is like some cool folk art. If she kept up this style as an adult, she'd totally be a good illustrator. She draws stuff like this in notebooks at church all the time, I just never remember to scan them.

Elora drew this after looking at a picture I drew and just remembering it. She really does a great job if she's remembering or looking at some kind of visual reference. I like her wings and her face.

Elora drew this at school during art time. She thought it wasn't very good and was throwing it away, but I thought it was a pretty good shawl dancer!

This was also done during art at school, with watercolor. I just wish she'd finished it.

This was for a class project, where they were making a book about their experiences with pow-wows. I really had to keep on her so she'd finish it (it helped that she had new markers she was excited to test out). It was doubly trying because she drew it on the wrong paper and had to completely redraw and color it twice.(This one was the first one) I think her colors turned out awesome, but I wish she'd have tried harder to draw the people as well as I know she can. If she has something to look at she can draw really well!

For instance, she got a book of Garfield comics for Christmas, and she drew these just by looking at the book, no tracing involved. I'm impressed.
And when my mom was here, Elora drew this picture of my dad! Most of it is from memory, though she did ask for a photo to look at, to remember how to draw the hair and beard.

The following is one of the masks she made for her brothers. She makes stuff like this (masks, puppets, inventions, etc) all the time, and spends a lot of time and effort on them. It's sad that they usually don't appreciate them.
The following I might have posted before on facebook or here, but I really like it. She did one more panel saying the boy had arrived at the Dragon King's palace, but she never did any more on it.
I just hope as Elora gets older and busier that she will continue to have time for creative pursuits, she does a great job!
